The fabulous Arthur Erickson designed Canadian Embassy is very conveniently located close to the Capitol & National galleries. Highly recommended to view the architecture & amazing Bill Reid sculpture in the plaza.
This is hands down the best building in all of DC. Well, it is if you love Brutalist architecture. It also has an incredibly cool sound feature!
I was surprised to see how architecturally impressive the Canadian Embassy is. It is in a prime location, so worth stopping by to see. The circular structure offers a cool experience with a echoing announcer sound when you speak.
Great location and architectural history. Drop by to learn the story.
My wife and I dropped in to see if we could get a tour, having read other reviews here on Google. We were dismayed at the less than enthusiastic security guard who said there were no tours. The fact that his name tag was upside down on his shirt was enough evidence of his indifference to visitors. What a disappointment and poor representation of Canada in the US capital. And we realize that it's an embassy and not a tourist attraction, but they could at least have some kind of reception space for drop in visitor. Also, it is interesting that the Canadian Embassy is the only one on "the mall" (that I could find).
Great to visit with fellow Canadians and get a quick tour of the facility.
We didn't use the embassy for any business, but the Christmas tree was very nice. It is directly across the street from the National Gallery of Art, so an easy walk over to check it out (when it's up).
Travelled to Kingston Canada for some days from the 25th to 26th October
We enjoyed the hospitality of the beautiful people in Kingston.
Thanks for your dedication!!
